The OSSKI institute was originally founded in 1957,but was renamed in 1959 in honour of the Nobel-prize scientist and peace fighter to "Frédéric Joliot-Curie" Central Research Institute for Radiobiology (or in Hungarian the Orszagos Frederic Joliot-Cuire Sugarbiolgiai Es Sugaregeszsegugyi Kutato Intezet). OSSKI which is based in Budapest, Hungary; employs over 85 personnel, and is the professional centre for Hungary in radiation health. The institute also specializes inradiopharmaceutical research, diagnostic and therapies, (radio) toxicology, kinetics and dosimetry calculations.
